Ronnie Lane
Today would have been Ronnie Lane's sixty-fifth birthday.
He was the heart of the Faces, leader of a traveling circus, a court jester and an April Fool.

Debris is one of my all time favourite songs and Ronnie's solo stuff is so overlooked it's criminal. Happy Birthday Plonk.
Come and check our podcasts, there should be plenty for you to enjoy. Love to swap links too, I've added you to our blogroll.

Awww... Thanks for this. Never knew him, still miss him.
Thanks a lot for these, much appreciated. Well done on remembering it would have been his 65th.
A great musician - sorely missed. Happy Birthday Mr Lane.
Thank you so much. I saw the Faces in in 1974. Ronnie Wood pushed a drinks trolley on stage and then the band played. Just fantastic.
Saw him twice, once with the faces and then at the Roundhouse with Slim Chance. Great stuff!
Thanks for reminding us all of his talents.
Cheers, lovely post - one of my favourite Ronnie tunes.
Thanks so much for this post - listening to these tunes in my car on my way to work convinced me (temporarily at least)that everything was alright in the world.
Wowee! I love Ronnie - and have ever since I heard Rough Mix, oh, about 30 years ago -- several years later, I had to follow his career backwards to see he had such a stellar body of work. Picked up the Faces box set recently (it has the best playing Ron Wood ever did). I am amazed that I hadn't heard most of these - I should buy that BBC Sessions. I have a disc of later recordings made in Austin, compiled by Mac after Ronnie's death.
